Aljazeera’s Terrible Coverage
November 22, 2006 · Mustapha Hamoui

Did you know that the Lebanese are “exchanging accusations” with regard to the Killing of Gemayyel?
When it comes to covering Lebanon, Aljazeera is scandalously biased. It pairs national figures with hired conspiracy theorists (like the puke-invoking Sleimen Franjiyeh and Talal Erslan), and gives their opinions similar weight. It focuses its interviews on Syrian denials and people with the laughable question: “Who benefits from the killings?”
On its main page, Aljazeera’s agenda is naked: with a viciously worded poll question: What is more important for Lebanon, the Hariri tribunal or fixing the economic mess?
Of course, in the world of Aljazeera, an economy can thrive in an environment where there’s a killer on the lose. As long as the killer is Arab, Aljazeera thinks its okay. Just ask Qatar, Aljazeera’s patron, who has been relentlessly trying to stifle the International tribunal in the security council to save Bashar’s behind.
Many Lebanese have given up on Aljazeera.
