She’s Back

July 17, 2007 · Mustapha Hamoui

The reporter who gloated at the death of MP Walid Eido is back with a smirk.

Yes, it’s official. She’s reading the news on air again.

Only in Lebanon can such a disgraced figure come back to the lime lights triumphantly. (To remember what she did, you can watch this report(video))

All NBN needed as a sorry excuse to put her back was “the malicious campaign of criticism against the station’s integrity”. Re-installing her was a sign of defiance in the land of do-as-you please.

But why are we surprised? Nabih berri, the owner of the station has behaved as he always did throughout crises:

1- Lay low while the other side is angry and pretend to go along with their demands. (Fire her)

2- U-turn aggressively when the others become relatively peaceful. (Re-install her)

What a shame. The blood of M.P. Eido hasn’t dried yet..
