Those Domestic Workers Just Keep “Committing Suicide”

Al-Akhbar reports that as many as 4 foreign domestic workers died in just 3 days. The newspaper also made this good observations: (My translation. Hover for Arabic)

What’s notable from the police reports and the case notifications is how quickly suicide is assumed. Despite the fact that dozens of foreign domestic workers are dying yearly, there have been no reports of arrests.

In any case, suicide or not, more needs to be done to make the Lebanese household less dangerous for those who come from far away to serve.
