Regardless of what caused Mr. Hariri to make an about face, whether conviction or coercion, he should pay the price not just in words, but in action. What was the fault of millions of people who marched behind Mr. Hariri for 5 years, some of whom payed a high price in entrenched enmity with their Lebanese brethren? What about the Syrians in Lebanon who were killed and expelled from their livelihoods because of the accusations that were targeting their country? Or the Arab countries who went along and also made an enemy out of Syria because of Mr. Hariri’s accusations?
