It’s Difficult To Write About Alcohol To An Arab Audience

I had previously linked to an article about alcohol in Lebanon which was written for an Egyptian audience. In that post, I snickered about the author’s prejudices, but today he (the author) responded to that post in a comment and explained:

I think that there is no way to write such an article without upsetting someone, if you wrote the article saying that it’s against religion to drink, then you are faced by bad reviews from open minded people, and if you wrote the article with a positive attitude towards wine, then you are faced by the crazed closed minded people.
