A Stinging Critique Of Lebanese Eco Villages

November 9, 2010 · Mustapha Hamoui

Ninar is upset about the branding of “Eco” villages:

The Lie of Eco villages : Buy a small mountain in an isolated area, unpolluted by urban crowds. Destroy its forrests and its ecosystem. Bring over bulldozers and spend billions in water, energy and other resources to build a village from scratch, a village which includes all the “pollutants” of globalization, from huge shopping malls, entertainment centers, large luxurious mansions and car parks

In English they have a term for that: Greenwashing.
