Guilty Until Proven Innocent

November 12, 2010 · Mustapha Hamoui

The authorities released for lack of evidence one of the people who were accused of spying for Israel. Presumably Milad Eid was one of those people Hezbollah wanted to execute immediately.

I’m not sure what to think. Should I be happy that due process is still not completely broken in Lebanon, or sad that Mr. Eid’s reputation was destroyed and that he will forever be known as the person arrested for being an Israeli spy?
