LBC Bans Smoking On Premises And Will Stop Accepting Cigarette Ads

This is great news (translation mine, hover for Arabic original):

The Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation has taken the initiative, based on its civic responsibility, to announce a managerial directive to ban smoking in its buildings effective the start of the new year. LBC will also stop accepting ads that promote and market smoking as of January 10, 2011

The station will also undertake advocacy campaigns to raise awareness of the disadvantages of smoking, with the message that smoking is the main cause of many deaths and has very bad effects on public health

I applaud them for taking that step, and I hope they get that snowball rolling.
