Alfa To Get 3G Eventually

Alfa Chairman, Marwan Hayek after the awarding of a 3G contract to Ericsson:

With trends in the dynamic telecommunications world progressing and evolving day after day, mobile users are not anymore voice centric. Indeed, mobile handsets have become an all-in-one platform enabling users to stay connected with their society either by voice, data, media or social networking

He could have made the same statement one year ago. Interestingly, there was no mention of bandwidth. Will Ericsson provide new bandwidth or will Alfa tap into the existing Lebanese network? (Horrors)

Who knows when Lebanon actually gets 3G, but my guess is that by then, the world will have moved to LTE (Which is more than 10 times faster than 3G).
