A New Saudi Assertiveness?

Yesterday, the outgoing Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri, standing next to a giant portrait of the Saudi king declared to hundreds of thousands of Lebanese a war on the weapons of the Iran-backed Hezbollah.

Today, thousands of GCC troops lead by Saudi Arabia rolled into Bahrain to check a perceived Iranian encroachment. A few days before, the Saudi authorities buried demonstrations in Saudi Shiaa areas before they even started.

For whatever reason, the Saudis seem to have made a decision to go on the attack against Iranian expansion in the region. It seems the recent operation the Saudi King had not only fixed his biological spine, but gave him a brand new metaphorical one as well..
