Is Bahrain The New Lebanon?

March 15, 2011 · Mustapha Hamoui

A tiny nation has a divided population. It has just invited a neighboring nation to intervene militarily because one of the sects feels it needs protection from the other. The other neighboring nation (which of course protects the other sect) is denouncing the “invasion” and “occupation” of the neighboring countries and is threatening to take action. This tiny country could very well plunge into civil war and drag the entire region with it into trouble.

This is not Lebanon 1976, this is unfortunately Bahrain 2011..

Update: Aljazeera and Alarabiya are both covering Bahrain from the perspective of the ruling elite. So if you need an alternative point of view, check out this twitter account. It’s a collection of tweets by anti-regime Bahrainis.
