Clip from Ziad Rahbani Play Used To Test Lebanon’s First 3G Connection

April 19, 2011 · Mustapha Hamoui

In a dark underground room below the Libantel building, people gathered to watch this magical experiment:

Technicians connected 3 computers with identical specs to the internet. The first was using a GPRS (edge) connection, which is the wireless technology used at present, the second using a DSL connection (representing the obsolete cable technology currently in use before fibre optics came in), and the third was hooked to the promised 3.5 G wireless connection. Then, on all three computers, technicians simultaneously loaded a 1-minute youtube clip taken from a Ziad al Rahbani play: “Bikhsous el karame wil sha3b el 3aneed” (on dignity and the stubborn people)

Interesting choice..
