Religious Tolerance in the GCC

May 25, 2011 · Mustapha Hamoui

According to a new survey, 36% of the Emirati population would not object to living next door to people from different faiths. Which is a nice way of saying that 64% of the population would be disturbed if a Christian (or Hindu, or Jew) moved in next door. I find the stats very disturbing, especially since the UAE apparently did better than Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait in the religious tolerance test..
