Super Damascus

For a regime that is having so much going on domestically and whose army was unceremoniously kicked out of Lebanon a few years ago, Syria is having an inexplicable amount of influence on Lebanon.

They pick our governments, dictate our foreign policy and our votes in international and regional bodies, run security networks that kidnap people and ex Vice Presidents on our soil and trespass our borders to kill people.

The whole region is united against that regime (with the exceptions of Iran and Israel), a large section of its population is in active revolt against it and its future seems all but bleak. But Lebanese politicians — a famously opportunistic lot — are still surrendering their sovereignty keys to the Assads and allowing them to control us..

Things are just not adding up..
