Why is Iran’s Foreign Minister no Longer Coming to Lebanon?
October 24, 2011 · Mustapha Hamoui
Yesterday, President Ahmadinejad of Iran told this to CNN’s Fareed Zakaria regarding Syria:
Nobody has the right to kill others, neither the government nor the opponents
As a result, Iran’s Foreign Minister cancelled his visit Lebanon. If you’re thinking “huh?”, here’s the vital connection:
“Damascus, unsatisfied with Ahmadinejad’s position, has informed Iran’s foreign minister through diplomatic channels that Syria has no desire to welcome him during his upcoming tour of the region,” one diplomatic source told The Daily Star. “For this reason, the trip was cancelled altogether,” he added.
Think of this for a moment. A foreign official cancels his official visit to Lebanon because Syria “has no desire to welcome him”.
Let me be clear about this: We are not Syria’s friends. We are not Syria’s allies. We are Syria’s bitches.
