How Do You Prepare the Grounds For a Massacre?

February 22, 2012 · Mustapha Hamoui

Here’s a tip from the Syrian regime: Kill the front line reporters who only a few days ago told the world that the city is expecting a massacre to take place. You get two benefits: The world won’t get to see your crimes and other journalists will think twice before deciding to cover your brutality.

For those who claim this is an “accident” or collateral damage, please spare me your naiveté. If the person who has been annoying the regime with her scrutiny is killed, this is not a mistake. Especially if the regime is known for brutally murdering journalists who opposed it.
